patio-misting-systems
Because of extreme heat in many localities, patio-misting-systems are often included with your landscaping because of the temperature difference misting can make.
We visited a home in southern Utah once when the temperature was well over 100 degrees. They had misters installed around their patio. It was delightful to be there, in spite of the 100 degree weather at the time. If I lived in the south I would definitely have misters installed on my patio or over my pool area. Unless you've experienced the tremendous difference yourself, misting can make, you might not believe it.
Can you imagine outdoor air conditioning? It is done by atomizing water at 1000 psi for the patio. Less psi is used for misting plants in your flower bed gardens. Using "flash evaporation" the outdoor temperature can be reduced by at least 15 degrees. I've heard quoted even as much as 35 degrees in extreme heat, but the "authorities" say 15 degrees probably to be "safe".
Has your shower nozzle ever clogged up because of hard water deposits? Well, water misters are similar to a shower head, and so using softened water would tend to keep those mister spray heads cleaner too. If you are considering patio misters in your yard, that is one thing you might want to remember, . Hooking your misters up to your water softener, if your water is very hard, will help the nozzles not clog up with hard water deposits See my page on water softeners
